Debbie Burns
is a Licensed Boxing Trainer, Martial Artist, Reebok Fitness Pro and a
consultant for Reebok University's National Fitness Conventions. Debbie
is very active in the Fitness Industry and has over 20 years of teaching
experience. As the creator and founder of the American Heart Association's
National Health and Fitness Expo, she has successfully raised close to
$500,000 in support of the American Heart Association's vital programs
of research and preventative education. The Expo was considered to be
the largest of it's kind in the United States and has brought together
some of the country's best fitness instructors in the fight against heart
disease. In 1992, she was nationally recognized for her volunteer efforts
at the International Fitness Convention held by IDEA in Las Vegas, Nevada
during the Fitness Industry Awards, the "Oscars" of the Fitness
World. She is the host of TIME OUT FOR FITNESS, a popular cable fitness
show and has been a fitness reporter for major radio stations in the Boston
Market. Debbie travels nationally on behalf of the Amateur Athletic Union
as a National Trainer and Judging Official for Sport Aerobic Competition.
She currently conducts sanctioned BOXING BODY TRAINING CAMPS and National
Certifications for the AAU. Through her Boxing/Kickboxing Programs, she
encourages participation in the AAU and the President's Council on Physical
Fitness and Sports in conjunction with the Presidential Sports Award.
Debbie has
trained with some of the country's best fighters and trainers from Boston
to Las Vegas, the Boxing Capital of the World. As a trainer, you'll catch
her working the fighter's corner in amateur competition. She also finds
the time to train as a fighter 3 to 4 times weekly at Farrell's Boxing
Gym in Quincy, Ma. the home of 15 National Champions in the year of 2000.
In addition, Debbie continues to upgrade her karate training twice a week
in the style of Uechi-Ryu/Shohei-Ryu.
Debbie is
a Continuing Education Provider for AFAA (The Aerobics and Fitness Association
of America) and an Aerobics Program Director for several gyms in Southern
Massachusetts.
